Web Site Promotion and Marketing

Most search engines have a way to submit your website to them, but this is actually not the best way to get them to take notice. You need contact other website owners and convince them to link to your website using your keyword phrases. For some search engines a link is like a vote for a website, the more votes you have the better you'll rank. Here are a few pointers:

          A) The websites / webpages should be relevant to the website we are promoting and it's keywords.
                    1) Relevant: similar, having lots of our keywords on the website and especially on the specific page.
                    2) Directories and links pages are great as long as most of the other links are similar.

          B)   Link exchanges are alright but do not to link out to crappy sites.

          C)   Find websites to request a link from by looking at...
              1) Search the major search engines...Google, Yahoo and MSN with the following searches:
                 a) *"keyword phrase" +directory
                 b) *"keyword phrase" +(submit OR add) +(url OR site)
                 c) *"keyword phrase"
                 d) the above searches without quotes
                       * replace keyword phrase with your keyword phrase "in quotes"
