As you may already know, Springfield Illinois was hit by a
pair of F2 tornadoes on March 12th 2006. Thankfully no one was
killed but there were some injuries and alot of property damage. I have
put together a list of websites where you can see some of the tornado
damage photos for yourself. If you know of more pictures of the
Springfield Illinois tornado damage, Please don't hesitate to send a
link to storm-damage@yahoo.com
so I may include it here...

Murrayville Illinois and many others were also slammed by the same tornado.
And below you will find a few of my photos of the Springfield tornado damage.
The tornatic winds were so fierce
that it ripped the head right off of the Lauterbach Man on
Walbash Avenue.

This is one of the strip malls on
Walbash Avenue that was damaged. You can see that it ripped the
overhang to pieces.

The Road Ranger gas station didn't
fare well. Some of the pumps were blown over and the canopy is
very damaged.

North Street - just off Walbash
and McArthur - took a good hit from the tornado.

Alot of south Chatham Road was
closed due to the tornado damage done to the utility poles.

As the tornado tore thru the
intersection of Walbash and McArthur it took the roof and walls of this
business for a ride.

The Bacon and Van Buskirk Company
will be very busy replacing all the broken glass windows around
Springfield.

This garage collapsed after the
force of the tornado blew out a supporting wall.

The wind was too fierce for the
three foot steel pole that held this billboard upright.

Building insulation was thrown
everywhere on North Street.

The area between Stanton and North
Street was hit hard.

The Barrel Head on Walbash lost
it's roof.

Behind Gordmans on Veterens Parkway.

Hotels damaged in Parkway Point.
